Yavorivsky Volodymyr Aleksandrovich.

Born on October 11, 1942 in the village of Tetlitka Kryzhopol District, Vinnytsya region. Graduated from the Philological faculty of the Odessa University (1964). He worked in the editorial board of various newspapers in Zaporizhzhya, the writer of Lviv Television, a reference of SPU, the head of the prose department, deputy editor-in-chief of the “Fatherland” magazine, secretary of the SPU.

Author of books of stories and stories “and apples fall…” (1968), “Gorno Ripe Grapes” (1971), “From the Heights of September” (1984), “Wolf Farm” (2000), Books Publicistics “Wings, Honed Skies” (1975), “Here On Earth” (1977), “and in the sea to remember the Source” (1980), “Right of Own name” (1985), “What are we for the people so?” (2000); Novels “Chain Reaction” (1978), “Look Out of Autumn” (1979), “Self Portrait of Imagination” (1981), “And Now – Go” (1983), “Mary with a shelf of the end of the century” (about the Chernobyl catastrophe), “crisis.”

The author of the program “20 minutes with V. Yavorivskyi” on the Ukrainian radio.

Works translated into languages of other peoples.

The State Prize of T. Shevchenko (1984) was awarded with the art-documentary story “Eternal Kortelesy”.

He was the head of the Committee on State prize named after T. Shevchenko, headed a Democratic Party of Ukraine, elected to the Parliament of 1989, the Parliament of Ukraine and II convocation, headed the first parliamentary Commission on Chernobyl catastrophe.
